Foie gras is inherently cruel, several investigations have exposed the abhorrent conditions beyond the process of gavage.
We are protesting to demand an end to this unnecessary and oppressive practice. Ducks and Geese are not ingredients, they are sentient, living individuals who deserve better.
Foie gras is banned in several countries and jurisdictions because of its extreme cruelty. The animals used in this industry are treated as disposable, and are denied everything that makes life worth living. This practice is no different from what we do to farmed animals, but it is more recognized for it's cruelty. So this is our opportunity to work down the menu.
Several countries have voted to ban the production and sale of foie gras.
In the production of foie gras, ducks and geese are force-fed pounds of boiled grains and fat for weeks. Typically, this is done through a tube forced down the animal’s throat. This causes their liver to grow up to 10 times its healthy size.
Ducks and geese used for foie gras experience intense health problems as a result of the process, including compromised liver function, stress, fungal infection from standing on grates, esophageal damage, and sternum fractures.
These intelligent, social birds can live up to 20 years, but in the "Foie Gras" industry, they are killed within months, after suffering in crowded cages or dark barns where they're denied the ability to fly, swim, or express any natural behaviors. Some become so sick they die before slaughter, choking or collapsing under the weight of their own organs.
Foie Gras is made by force-feeding ducks and geese multiple times a day using a metal tube that is shoved down their throats. Through this process, called gavage, enormous amounts of grain and fat are pumped directly into their stomachs, causing their liver to swell up to 10 times their natural size. This makes it difficult for them to breathe, stand, or even move without pain.
Foie Gras has been banned in over 20 countries, including the UK, Germany, and India, because of its extreme cruelty.

We hand out flyers to educate the public about the suffering these animals endure and why foie gras must stop.
We're flooding their pages with facts, graphics, and public pressure. We call them out so the world sees their cruelty.
We're reaching out to other businesses associated with foie gras, as well as service providers, urging them to cut ties.
At OMNI Hotels and Resorts and any places that have ties to foie gras.
