The Foundation Straight Edge is an offshoot of the 80's D.C. hardcore scene. It's a rejection of the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll cliché. It's not just an issue of health, it's an issue of sobriety in revolution. In the 90's, it became Vegan Straight Edge (XVX), which is an ideological connection between sobriety and the liberation of all sentient beings.
The Philosophy of being Straight Edge means being an untainted instrument of the revolution. We prefer to be clear-headed in order to stay focused on the revolution without distractions. It means being sharp, being healthy, and being in the revolution.
Resources & Cultu
In the struggle for animal liberation, discipline is our strongest weapon. We highly encourage the XVX (Vegan Straight Edge) lifestyle, not simply because we prefer it, but because we recognize it as an advantage.
Our mission requires unwavering focus, stamina, and logic-traits which are undermined by distraction. By being unambiguous and unwavering in our approach, we guarantee that our actions in campaigns against the industries are effective, resilient, and unshakeable.
CLARITY: High-stakes advocacy necessitates an airtight strategy. Our mental clarity allows us to manage intricate operations and implement our objectives with precision.
CONSISTENCY: The industries we fight against are built on activist burnout. We are the exception. Our dedication is fueled by a lifestyle that focuses on our health and resolve.
SOLIDARITY: We are creating a movement grounded in our integrity. A life without substances enables us to develop a network that is reliable, disciplined, and mobilized at a moment’s notice.
Stay sharp. The development of a sober community of activists is important for our ability to remain in the fight. While the noise of the industry can be overwhelming at times, our ability to stand united and ready to fight harder for what we believe in is greatly aided by our clear-headedness.
Stay safe. Vigilance is non-negotiable. Non-sober environments are often breeding grounds for those who wish to do us harm. Predators seek out areas of blurred focus and feed off the lack of awareness that substance use provides. In developing our sober community of activists, we eliminate these risks and promote safety by maintaining clear boundaries.
We stay sharp to stay safe. We are here for the mission. Nothing more, nothing less.
